Toxicology

Numerous toxicological studies were performed as part of the biocide notification process for margosa extract.

The following data on acute toxicology represent the basic data for creation of a safety data sheet:

Rat LD50 oral	> 2000 mg/kg
Rat LD50 dermal	> 2000 mg/kg
Rat LD50 inhalation	> 5.15 mg/l air
Skin irritation	not irritating
Eye irritation	not irritating
Skin sensitisation	no sensitisation

In addition to these toxicological data required for the safety data sheet, other toxicological studies were also performed, which resulted in the following labelling requirements:
